Get On Track Wide Open Wednesday WOW Karting League [Grand Prix]

WOW Grand Prix League

This event uses our public rental karts

Best suited for Individual public competitors

18 years and older [60"+ tall]

This six-race W.O.W. Grand Prix series runs from April to September, parallel to the W.O.W. Wednesdays here at the track. This league is for individual competitors 18 years of age and older.

Each event includes a 10 minute practice, two 12-lap heat races and one 20-lap final. Race classes are determined by body weight. Drivers gain points based on finishing position during preliminary heat races; which determines the starting grid for the final. Each event will last approximately 2 hours based on number of participants. Points and prizes are awarded based on finishing position in each individual race. Points will also decide a series champion for each class. Don’t forget about the End of Year League Racers Enduro on the Full Kart Track!

Cost: $55 per person, per race†

†$5 late fee if not pre-registered online. To register online select from the list at right.

Format:

  • 10 minute practice; two 12-lap heats; one 20-lap final

Race Classes

  • Sportsman [Up to 200 pounds]
  • Masters [201 pounds and over]
Weight is determined by weighing the driver with their helmet and safety gear at the kart scale house. If drivers in begin in the Masters race class come in under weight by at least 5 lbs. two races in a row, they will be moved to the Sportsman class for the remainder of the series.

Timeline

  • Pre-registration required through website
  • Walk up Registration opens 1 hour prior (extra $5 fee)
  • Stated time — practice begins
Dates and times are subject to change. Advanced registration is required or there will be a $5 fee for any walk-up, day-of registration.

Points and Prizes

Awarded based on finishing position in each event
  • Prizes will be awarded in the form of gift cards for each event using $5 from each entry fee to build the prize fund. First place will receive 70%; Second 20%; Third 10%.
  • Season points winner from each class will receive a FREE entry into the League Racers Enduro and other awards.
  • One drop

About the Karts

Karts will be randomly selected during each event by the staff. Unless there is a true mechanical problem with the kart that is identified during practice or race, the same kart must be used throughout the entire event. Although we make an effort to ensure that all karts are functioning at top performance, mechanical failures do happen. If a kart goes down for any reason during a heat or final race, that driver’s race is over and they are not to attempt to re-start themselves.
